How can you live life to its fullest and enjoy every moment when you are scared of death and know that every moment you grow older, you are closer to death?
A friend of mine had a heart attack several years ago. Typically, like many others with that experience, he spent months bound in a web of fear. Would the next moment be his last? When would “the big one” arrive?
One day he took a long look at the paralyzed state of which fear had left him. He was but half alive. There was only dread.
This is not the way I want to live, he thought.
It had finally dawned on him that the heart attack had not altered his life expectancy one iota. The day before the attack, he was destined to live until he died. The day after the attack, he enjoyed the very same destiny.
So he became the “What, me worry?” kid.
